Homeward Bound envisages building 1000-women strong global network in 10 years that will enable the best policy decisions for a sustainable planet. Homeward Bound aims to develop, nurture, and inspire women into more influential leadership positions in the fields of science and environmental professions, to be the catalyst for positive climate change. This is critical at the time when the number of women in global executive decision-making roles has grown only very slowly in recent decades, and no country has yet managed to eliminate the gender gap.

The 12 month virtual program involves leadership training, education in climate change and social entrepreneurship projects. It culminates with a 3 week field trip to Antarctica in Feb 2018 - possibly the largest all women expedition! The women  collaborate on multiple projects during the year which provide a strong set of actionable outcomes to work towards in the future. The skills and knowledge gained from these projects will be shared during the voyage and with the greater community on their return.
